Scrap Paper Shakespeare is a scrappy troupe of Shakespeare lovers, dedicated to creating quality, professional theatre for audiences in the Triangle of North Carolina.

Our seasons include the works of William Shakespeare, lesser-performed classical plays, and original works inspired by classic stories.

We believe that classical theatre can and should be accessible, whether you're a Shakespeare pro or you slept through high school English class.

Imagine it's the middle of the night, and you have a brilliant idea. You know you'll forget it if you go back to sleep, so you roll over and grab the nearest piece of paper you can find--a napkin, a torn envelope, your electric bill--and jot it down.

That's Scrap Paper.

Elaborate productions are fun, but sometimes the razzle-dazzle can distract from the text. We believe that theatre is about telling a story. All you really need are the words and a spark of inspiration.

We love classical works because these stories have endured - and we believe that classical plays are accessible for all people, whether you've been a fan of them your whole life, or you've never experienced them before.

All we want to do is share those stories with you!
